SHAKUHACHI (Japanese bamboo flute) concert by Mr. Yosuke IRIE

On September 3 (Mon), the Permanent Mission of Japan held a SHAKUHACHI (Japanese bamboo flute) concert at Vienna International Center (VIC). The performer was a young SHAKUHACHI master Mr. Yosuke IRIE. Around 120 people from Permanent Missions based in Vienna as well as International Organizations in the VIC enjoyed the performance.
During the concert, there was not only an explanation on the history of SHAKUHACHI and its mechanism to get a sound, but also a workshop-style trial on SHAKUHACHI. The audience praised Mr. IRIE’s wonderful performance and many of them found the demonstration very interesting.
