2017/7/19
On 19 July 2017, at the Japanese School in Vienna, First Secretary Mr. Kyotaro Ida, a former JAXA Flight Director, delivered a promising lecture on the experiences of the JAXA Flight Director of the Japanese Experiment Module “Kibo” on the International Space Station (ISS) and on the important role of the Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (COPUOS).

The students eagerly listened to the lecture, which included many images and videos of activities in the ISS, then actively answered Mr. Ida’s questions. The goal was to enhance the children’s understanding of space development and international cooperation on space activities.

After the lecture, Mr. Ida held a special workshop for the teachers where he was asked many good questions. The teachers hoped to incorporate their new found knowledge into their educational material.
