2017/5/19
On 18 May, the Government of Japan pledged its contribution of USD 145,230 through IAEA Peaceful Uses Initiative (PUI) to support the IAEA’s emergency assistance project for Peru which was recently hit by the floods.
In this project, IAEA will procure digital mobile X-ray systems for medical practice, equipped with corresponding digital detectors and lead aprons and deliver it to the affected region, where a number of local hospitals has been damaged and the capacity of medical diagnosis and treatment have been significantly undermined by the floods. Japan decided to support the IAEA’s swift response as we take the current medical situation in the affected region seriously.
