Duo concert by Mr. Eijin NIMURA and Mr. Kenta UNO

On January 25 (Wed), the Permanent Mission of Japan hosted a duo concert at Vienna International Center (VIC). The performers were Mr. Eijin NIMURA (violin), who is the first Japanese designated as UNESCO Artist for Peace, and Mr. Kenta UNO, who is currently pursuing a Master’s degree at the Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna.
The concert was to celebrate the partnership between Japan and IAEA on the 60th Anniversary of the organization. Around 80 people from Permanent Missions based in Vienna as well as International Organizations in the VIC enjoyed the performance.

On January 26 (Thu), Ambassador Mitsuru KITANO hosted a concert by the same artists at his Residence, which was attended by around 50 people. The guests included IAEA Director General Mr. Yukiya AMANO and other IAEA senior officials, and permanent representatives to the IAEA.


The audience was impressed with their wonderful performance and praised Mr. Nimura’s mission of spreading the importance of peace through music.
