Reception on the occasion of the birthday of His Majesty the Emperor of Japan (February 29th, 2024)

The reception on the occasion of the birthday of His Majesty the Emperor of Japan was jointly hosted by Ambassador Kaifu, Permanent Representative to the International Organizations in Vienna, and Ambassador Mizuuchi, Ambassador of Japan to the Republic of Austria and Permanent Representative of Japan to the OSCE, on February 29, 2024. The guest of honour, Dr. Ursula Plassnik, former Federal Foreign Minister and current Government Commissioner for EXPO 2025 Osaka Kansai, and Ambassadors from other Permanent Missions were among the 350 guests in attendance.
At the reception, a variety of Japanese dishes were served, including scallops, other sea food and Wagyu beef from Japan prepared by the Ambassadors’ chefs as well as a selection of sake and wines from around Japan, which the guests enjoyed as a part of Japanese culture.
Ambassador Kaifu raised a toast to the further deepening and strengthening of our cordial relations and cooperation with Austria and the international community for continued prosperity, stability, peace, and hope.
