Reception on the occasion of the birthday of His Majesty the Emperor of Japan (March 7th, 2025)

The reception on the occasion of the birthday of His Majesty the Emperor of Japan was jointly hosted by Ambassador Kaifu, Permanent Representative to the International Organizations in Vienna, and Ambassador Iwama, Ambassador of Japan to the Republic of Austria and Permanent Representative of Japan to the OSCE, on March 7th, 2025. The guest of honour, Dr. Martin Kocher, former Federal Minister of Labour and Economy and designate Governor of Austria’s central bank, Dr. Robert Floyd, Executive Secretary of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO) and Ambassadors from Permanent Missions were among the 380 guests in attendance.
A variety of Japanese dishes were served at the reception, including Japanese cuisine prepared by the Ambassadors’ chefs as well as a selection of sake and whiskey from around Japan, which the guests enjoyed as a part of Japanese culture.
Ambassador Kaifu raised a toast to the further deepening and strengthening of our cordial relations, and cooperation with Vienna-based organizations for continued peace and prosperity.
