Reception hosted by Japan on the occasion of the 58th session of COPUOS

On 12 June 2015, a reception was held at the Vienna International Centre (VIC), hosted by Ambassador Mr. Mitsuru Kitano on the occasion of the 58th session of the Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (COPUOS). Around 150 persons from delegations as well as international organizations and other bodies participated in this reception.
Ambassador Mr. Kitano gave an opening remark, introducing the newly elected Chair of the Working Group of the Whole for 2016 Dr. Chiaki Mukai (a candidate for Chair of the Scientific and Technical Subcommittee of COPUOS for 2017), and also expressing his expectation to widen the scope of cooperation between many countries, OOSA and Japan, through the activities of COPUOS.
