Traditional Japanese Noh and Kyogen Performance

2014/9/30

On 30 September 2014, the new Permanent Representative to Vienna, H.E. Ambassador Mitsuru Kitano, hosted a traditional Noh and Kyogen performance at the Mission's premises. Around 140 guests, among them high representatives of international organizations as well as distinguished Ambassadors, enjoyed an exceptional evening of Japanese culture.

After the remarks by Ambassador Kitano, the plays were performed by the renowned artist Kyutaro Hashioka, a member of the 9th Generation of the famous Hashioka Family. The audience had the pleasure of experiencing both a traditional Kyogen piece, Bonsan, as well as a well-known piece of Noh theatre titled Takasago.
