2016/4/28
On 25 April, the Government of Japan pledged its contribution of about USD 197,000 through IAEA Peaceful Uses Initiative (PUI) to support the IAEA’s emergency assistance project for Ecuador which was recently hit by the earthquakes.
In this project, IAEA will procure mobile digital X-ray machines as well as mobile power generators and deliver them to the affected region, where the capacity of medical diagnosis and treatment of local hospitals has been considerably damaged by the earthquakes. Japan decided to support the IAEA’s swift response as we take the current medical situation in the affected region seriously.
