Side Event on Legal Aspects of Space Traffic Management (STM) During the 62nd session of LSC of COPUOS

       On 21 March 2023, during the 62nd session of the Legal Subcommittee (LSC) of the United Nations Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (COPUOS), Japan co-organized a side event with the International Institute of Space law (IISL) on the legal aspects of Space Traffic Management (STM).
       Dr. Nobuharu Imanishi, Minister of the Permanent Mission of Japan in Vienna, introduced the importance of discussions on space traffic management and Japan's efforts in this area, followed by a speech by IISL President Kai-Uwe Schrogl and an interactive panel discussion on the legal aspects of STM.
       Through these efforts, Japan will continue to contribute to the promotion of international discussions on STM.
