Signing and Exchange of Notes on the Project for the Improvement of Working Environment for Law Enforcement Agencies to Efficiently Counter Land Border and Maritime Crime in the Republic of Haiti
On September 18, Ambassador KAIFU Atsushi and Ms. Ghada Fathi Waly, Executive Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), exchanged notes concerning grant aid amounting to JPY 411 million (about 2,843,200 USD) from the Government of Japan for the “Project for the Improvement of Working Environment for Law Enforcement Agencies to Efficiently Counter Land Border and Maritime Crime in the Republic of Haiti”.
The project will improve the operational environment and provide training for law enforcement agencies in the West and Southeast departments of Haiti. This assistance is expected to strengthen their efforts in combating illicit trafficking at borders and at sea, thereby contributing to improved security and social stability in Haiti.
