Mr OSHITA Shun, Ph.D, Researcher/Advisor of the Permanent Mission of Japan to the International Organizations in Vienna, fulfilled his role of Rapporteur of the IAEA Technical Assistance and Cooperation Committee (TACC)
On 20-21 November, Mr. OSHITA Shun Ph.D, Researcher/Advisor at our Mission, fulfilled his role of Rapporteur of the IAEA Technical Assistance and Cooperation Committee (TACC).
The Rapporteur of the TACC drafts the TACC Report in cooperation with the IAEA Secretariat and convenes the Rapporteur Session to confirm the text of the TACC Report with consensus for adoption by the TACC and IAEA Board of Governors.

Mr. OSHITA had intensive discussions in advance with a wide variety of IAEA Member States, including main donor countries and G77 leaders, and made every effort as an impartial coordinator. As a result, the TACC and the Board of Governors reached a consensus to adopt the report prepared by Mr. OSHITA which approves over 450 new technical cooperation projects for 2024-2025.

After the adoption of the Report in the official meeting of the TACC and the IAEA Board of Governors, the Chair and the Board Members expressed their appreciation for the diplomatic contribution by the Government of Japan and Mr. OSHITA, which enhances Japan’s presence in the IAEA.
