A Diplomatic Conference of the Convention on Nuclear Safety (CNS) was held on 9 February 2015 at the Vienna headquarters of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). The Vienna Declaration on Nuclear Safety has been unanimously adopted by the Contracting Parties to the CNS.
Ambassador Mitsuru Kitano made a statement as representative of the Japanese Government, in which he emphasized Japan’s intention to continue its efforts toward strengthening nuclear safety and supported the adoption of the Declaration by consensus of all Contracting Parties.
