Garden Party 2026 at Ambassador’s Residence

On Tuesday, June 30, the annual summer garden party was held at Ambassador Kaifu's Residence, with representatives invited from various diplomatic missions and international organizations based in Vienna, among others.
At the outset, opening remarks were delivered by Dr. Robert Floyd, Executive Secretary of CTBTO, and Dr. György László Molnár, Head of the Wassenaar Arrangement (WA) Secretariat.
At this year's party, live demonstrations of Japanese cuisine (sushi and tempura) were featured as part of a broader effort to introduce Japanese food culture to Austria. In addition, sakes from various regions of Japan were introduced to our guests thanks to the generous cooperation of local Japanese grocery store "Nippon-ya" and Japanese sake store "SAKE no BA", as well as Shimizu Seizaburo Shoten Ltd. and Heiwa Shuzo, two sake breweries who’s representatives came all the way from Japan,. An outdoor tea ceremony (Nodate) demonstration and booths set up by Japanese companies All Nippon Airways (ANA) and Shiseido were also very popular.
Japanese musician Hibiki Kojima, based in Vienna, added to the festive atmosphere with his performance. Guests had the opportunity to experience the multifaceted charms of Japan, including Japanese cuisine, sake, and music, and thoroughly enjoyed the summer evening. Approximately 500 guests attended the party, making it a resounding success.
