First of all, please allow me to extend my warmest congratulations to  your Excellency, Mr. Bandar bin Ibrahim AlKhorayef, Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on your election as President of the General Conference, as well as to your Bureau members. Please be assured of Japan’s full support throughout this Conference.
Our sincere thanks also go to H.E. Ms. Debora Lepre, Ambassador of Italy, outgoing President and your Bureau members for your dedicated service.
 
Director General Dr. Gerd Müller, Japan warmly congratulates you on your reappointment.
Over the course of your first term, we have witnessed the ever-deepening partnership between Japan and UNIDO under your strong and visionary leadership. We look forward to working with you for further developments of the Organization.
