Madam Chair,
Japan takes note of document PBC.42/7 Report by the informal working group on Programme and Budget Committee-related issues. Japan appreciates the continued operation of the IWG and has actively participated in its sessions. We value the IWG as an important forum for in-depth discussions on key UNIDO issues.
It is important that the IWG continues to serve as a forum for substantive discussions. Japan believes that the quality and relevance of discussions could be further enhanced if Member States were to more proactively propose agenda items, allowing the Secretariat to respond to their priorities.
In this spirit, Japan looks forward to future productive IWG meetings, resulting in valuable contributions to the PBC.
