サイドイベント「食糧安全保障における研究所ネットワーク構築」開催について

11月14日，在ウィーン国際機関日本政府代表部は，サイドイベント“Building Laboratory Networks in Food Security“を開催しました。このイベントは，11月10日より開催されていた，食糧安全に関するIAEA/FAO国際シンポジウム（FAO/IAEA International Symposium on Food Safety and Quality）の機会を捉えて実施されたもので，同シンポジウム参加者，当地外交団などから総勢60名が参加しました。
開会挨拶にて，当代表部からは，食糧安全保障を含むグローバル課題の解決のためのIAEAによる活動への感謝と，（IAEA平和利用イニシアティブ（PUI）を含む）これらの活動への支援をあらためて表明しました。またリアンFAO/IAEA食糧・農業部長が，ラボネットワーク構築に係るIAEAの活動について，これまでの成果を交えつつ紹介しました。
家畜病診断に係る動画（Protecting Africa's Lifeblood: Animal Disease Control in Cameroon）の上映に引き続き，IAEA事務局の担当者より「アジア及びアフリカにおける家畜病診断に関するラボネットワーク」及び「ラテンアメリカにおける食糧安全関するラボネットワーク」について紹介がありました。

The Practical Export Control Workshop was hosted by the Wassenaar Arrangement as part of its 20th Anniversary programs and held at the Permanent Mission of Japan to the International Organizations in Vienna on 27 and 28 June 2016. More than 100 government representatives from 46 countries participated in the technically focused Practical Workshop.
Workshop speakers included the 2016 WA Plenary Chair Ambassador Anu Laamanen (Finland), 2016 WA General Working Group Chair Ambassador Paul Beijer (Sweden), 2015-2016 WA Experts Group Chair Robertas Rosinas (Lithuania), 2016 WA Licensing and Enforcement Officers Meeting Chair Jon Erik Strömö (Norway), as well as the Head of the WA Secretariat, Ambassador Philip Griffiths. The WA control lists as well as export licensing and enforcement topics were covered during the two days.
