IAEA技術支援協力委員会(議題3 2021年TC事業評価)ステートメント(桑原敦公使)(英語ページへのリンク)
令和3年11月22日
Thank you, Mr. Chair,
Japan thanks the Office of Internal Oversight Services (OIOS) for its Evaluation Report and for the informal briefing held on 2 November. We would like to encourage the Secretariat to take into account the OIOS recommendations and to implement the Technical Cooperation Programme (TCP) effectively and efficiently to make the best use of limited resources.
Mr. Chair,
Japan attaches great importance to TC related evaluations that seek to improve a wide range of activities or use of a large portion of funding.
In this context, Japan requests the OIOS to evaluate the Agency’s work related to the ZODIAC project in the near future. ZODIAC is a project considerably larger than past IAEA cooperation projects. The OIOS’s comprehensive evaluation of the project, from the design phase to the implementation phase, as well as its tentative outcome, would help ensure the transparency, credibility and objectivity of the project.
With these comments, Japan takes note of the OIOS Evaluation Report as contained in document GOV/2021/46.
Thank you, Mr. Chair.
